Snowy Day Update

Well, I survived the first power outage of the day. Only lasted about 30 minutes, from 11 o'clock to 11:30am. This was right after the heavy snowfall that dumped about 2 more inches on top of the ice field that is my yard.

The birds are staying busy. I have broken the ice off most of the feeders, but not all yet. It is hard to keep the snow off the platform and ground feeders.

Not doing too badly so far, but I'll bet there is more to come.

What's moving in the woodpecker photo -- his head or your hands?

Funny, LOG! I know that photo is pretty poor quality, but it was thru a window, in low light, and during the heaviest snow.

Lisa, I can't believe you went to work. Now you make me look like a slacker! (How'd you like that cat I left you?)

If the roads here were just sigh of impossible, I can't even imagine what they were like out your way....you know, in the boondocks.

Incredible storm, good to hear that you are safe at home. Since you've posted to your blog, does that mean you have electricity ? With all that ice !!?
Stay safe :)

I heard Ohio is one of the worst hit. Hang in there, Kathi.

You're lucky. Been out for 6 hours. The electric is still on and off and dimming this morning.

Wow! You are one brave soul. I don't know if I could do that anymore. I hope you have a nice fireplace or woodstove to cuddle up next to.

It looks like the birds appreciate your kindness. I hope the power stays on for you and all the folks back there.
