"Ah, Summer"

"Ah, Summer"

The Sun is a lush, ripe lemon

nestled in my cool, firm hands.

Carefully, I squeeze out and save each precious golden drop.

Mix with gentle rains,

sweeten with friendship and love.

Eagerly I drink it down, savoring the taste on my tongue.

Too soon the glass is empty.

Greedily, I lick my sticky fingers.

Nothing refreshes like Summer!

As lovely as your sentiment is, here's one naysayer--give me winter any day, anywhere, and any cold temp!

Great picture! And I'm a sun-lover, too, but 15 degrees cooler would suit me better. There are so many things I'd like to be out doing, and the heat saps my energy.
Too bad we can't bottle it for a rainy day.

It's too damn hot for poetry, Kath.
Make me some lemonade.

I love the poem, and the Summer; especially when I can enjoy it through the window of my air-conditioned home! Truly a nice poem.
