Welcome All!

Welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy your visit and choose to come back regularly. If you like what you see, the credit goes to Susan and Julie, who inspired me, encouraged me, and mentored me through the birth of this site, as well as birder-bloggers like Bill of the Birds, Birdchick and Jim McCormac, whose blogs I read for over a year before getting the nerve to create my own. If you don't like it, the fault is mine, though I hope you would give me a little leeway and check me out a couple of times before you decide. And, if you really hate me, I give you permission to hit the "DELETE" key.

Who am I? Some of you may know me, but for those who don't , let's take a walk through my closet. The best introduction I know is my T-shirt collection.

I'm a Dog Mom

who knows she isn't perfect.

I'm an OSU football fan.
GO BUCKS!

I'm a birder

who loves sparrows

I'm a member of the Ohio Ornithological Society.

And, I am a small animal veterinarian.

My blog will mostly be about dogs, cats, and birds (domestic dogs and cats, wild birds) and the part of Ohio where I live, but will likely veer off in other directions as the mood strikes me. I welcome your comments and feedback, as long as we all obey the rules.

The rules for my blog are simple:

Rule #1: Be nice. Respect other people, play nicely with the other children, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. However you choose to say it, just think before you type. Remember, in this virtual world of mine, no one can see your face or read your body language, so innocent comments can be misconstrued easily.

Rule #2: (an extension of Rule #1) This is not a debate board. While differing ideas are welcomed and will be respected, this is not the place to argue about hunting, declawing cats, owning exotic pets or banning dog breeds. I have my opinions, you have yours, and I don't care to fight about them here. Insulting comments or flame wars will not be tolerated.

Rule #3: I hope to talk a lot about pet care and veterinary medicine, and I will be happy to answer general questions. (Keep it to mammals, please. I don't do feathers or scales.) I cannot and will not make a diagnosis, recommend treatments, or give specific medical advice. Don't ask me. If you do, the answer will be "See your vet" or "Call your vet" or "Seek emergency attention." (Be nice to your pets, too.)

'Nuff said about the rules. Welcome to KatDoc's World. Next post, I plan to introduce you to some of the pets with whom I share my life.

You forgot a t-shirt - where is your 'Berg shirt??? (OK, I don't have one, either!)
Welcome to blog-space, Kat! I will DEFINITELY add you to my list!

She *used* to have a 'Berg shirt - either it went the way of most other things that old or she grew out of it... :P

Great introduction, Katdoc. I've been reading your comments for a long time and I'm glad to be able to get to know you better! I'll be back, for sure.

Well, well, well....photos!
I'm proud of you! Next, it's backlinks and widgets and sidebars and uber-code.

I like your tees. I could do an identical post, I think.
