Surrpise number 2: (Not a big surprise) 5 Eastern Bluebird eggs in the nest box. An early clutch again this year. The female came back to the nest after I inspected it and looked me over. I KNOW the bluebirds know me.
Surprise number 3: The following box:
With eager anticipation, I opened the carton. Ta-Dah!
She's here!!
Excuse me. I'm off to charge a battery and read manuals.
10:45pm - Edit: The battery is charged and I am wading through the (very complicated) manuals. Here are some test shots of Holly - the first with my new Rebel. (Still thinking of a name for her. The camera, that is.)

Hurray! Just in time for West Virginia!!! Can't wait to hear how you like it.
Holy crap! Niiiiice camera!
Wow! What a wonderful day! I love to hear that someone else actually READS manuals. Hope the camera is all you were hoping it would be.
Congratulations! You're going to love your new toy. Now you'll just need to add a nice little telephoto to that baby and you're all set! ;-)
How fun! Look forward to seeing more photos with your new camera!
Wecome to the club!
Congratulations on the new arrival! She's beeyouteeful! Here's wishing many years of happiness ahead for you. (and that brunette model you found is gorgeous)
Yahoo! I couldn't be more pleased to welcome you into the Sisterhood of the XSi. And people, she has the 70-300 image-stabilized telephoto lens, too, so watch for those fabulous birdpix!
I LOVE my Rebel Xsi; and I also just recently added the 70-300mm IS lens, and love it, too. You will, no doubt, have fun with yours! I'm looking forward to seeing great photos from your West Virginia trip. Hopefully, some day I'll be able to make that trip.
