New River Festival, Day 1

Blogging from the Meadows House at Opossum Creek. Temps in the 80's; I didn't plan on this heat.

Bullet points: 30 species of birds so far, plus butterflies, dragonflies, deer, a snapping turtle, and many, many friends and fellow bloggers.

Bonus points if you can ID what we found in the creek behind our Farmhouse.

Red-spotted newts, breeding.

This trip is great, and it's only just begun!

There she goes again: mixing in the fauna with the, uh, aviaria. OK, I know that's not right. Anyway, if it's not flowers it's something else when she's s'posed ta be looking for BOIDIES.

Hope you're having a blast!

Lisa:

It is the "Birding and NATURE Festival." This is the "nature" part.

Delia:

You were sorely missed, chica! Mucho gracias for the vino. We drank to your health (often.) You should live to be 1000 years old, LMAO.
